## About

SARAL (Systems Council) is a registered Section 8 non-profit company based in Calcutta, India. Founded in 2020, SARAL produces original open research, trains deep-tech talent, and builds intellectual infrastructure for India's technological sovereignty. Every paper, model, dataset, and tool produced by SARAL is published openly and freely available to Indian researchers, institutions, and government bodies.

- Edge-first architecture: runs on battery-powered field hardware under Rs 2 lakh, no cloud dependency
- Capabilities: autonomous navigation to blockages, assessment and positioning, sludge extraction, material deposit
- Adaptive precision inference for battery-powered field robots in infrastructure-poor environments
- EAIT: Embodiment-Aware Intent Transfer for hazardous labor substitution

## Academy

SARAL Academy offers open workshops, research fellowships, and technical intensives for students, early-career researchers, and policymakers at little or no cost.
